ABOUT

In 1987, broker Barbara Sancilardi held a set of keys in her hand. With excitement and a touch of nervousness, she opened the door to the first office of Century 21 Main Street Realty. Barbara’s background of real estate started at just 13 with a family business. By 16, she worked for one of the largest developers in the state, Atlantic Realty Development of Woodbridge. Her interest in real estate continued and became well rounded as she grew, working in the National State Bank’s mortgage department while pursuing a degree of business management and a minor in finance. At the young age of 19 she became a licensed realtor: she was doing real estate in the evenings and weekends, which was hard, but she loved it. Barbara’s expertise goes far beyond residential real estate as she has experience in commercial real estate, property management, rental properties, land acquisition and development projects. By 23, Barbara opened the first office of Century 21 Main Street Realty. Barbara had to teach herself a lot because back then people didn’t have a lot of women in business, first of all and no one her age. Everyone was older and was not looking to help her. She had to work hard, seven days a week, morning, noon and night, but she was drawn to it. She loved it and still does ever since then. Century 21 Main Street Realty has won 25 awards since 1996 including Quality Service Office, Gold Medallion and, most prestigious, Centurion (awarded by Century 21 Real Estate).
