Andrew Stern is a Managing Director with Newmark, specializing in both landlord and tenant representation. Stern represents many prominent landlords, including AIB Development Corp., Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, Caspi Development, Chetrit Group, Eretz Group, Forest City Ratner Companies, Fortuna Realty Group, Jamestown, Kibel Companies, Kushner Companies, Magnum Real Estate Group, Metro Loft Management, Moinian Group, Newcastle Realty Services, Philips International, Premier Equities. Stellar Management, Sterling Equities, Summit Equities, Sutton Management, Tristar Capital and Zar Property. Stern also works on behalf of several retailers. After a three-year absence from the market, men’s heritage brand J Press, which has operated in New York since 1912, returned to the market with Stern’s assistance; he arranged the lease for the brand’s new home on the Men’s Mile in Midtown, at the base of the Yale Club at 44th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue. Elsewhere on the Men’s Mile, Stern represented Sayki in two leases, first at 340 Madison Avenue and then at 375 Madison Avenue. These are the first U.S. locations for the men’s brand, which has 82 locations in Turkey. Stern was a member of the team that sold the 11,000-square-foot retail condominium at 250 Bowery on behalf of the landlord to the International Center of Photography, which relocated its museum there after 40 years in Midtown Manhattan. Stern also helped sell 353 West 46th Street to a restaurant user and the air rights at 195 Tenth Avenue to the developers of 197 Tenth Avenue. He arranged the long-term triple net lease of the entire six-floor building at 113 East 60th Street on behalf of ownership to Ocean Recovery. Recently, Stern sold the 16,188-square-foot retail condominium at 75 White Street and the 18,878-square-foot retail condominium at 241 Church Street to Cloud Kitchens. Stern has established himself as the most active retail leasing broker in Tribeca, having completed a total of 102 transactions. A few of the Tribeca deals he completed are with tenants including; Almine Rech Gallery, Café Clementine, Church Street School, Coder School, DHL, Elyse Walker, Emilia George, Erika Bloom Pilates, FedEx, Fonda, Form Atelier, Healthynest, Innovation Shade, James Perse, Jason Scott, Journal Gallery, Kiddie Academy, Krav Maga Institute, Los Tacos No. 1, Madison Reed, MattressFirm, Officine Gullo, PF Chang’s to Go, Pup Culture, Rumble, Schiff Fine Art, Shoji, Ted Muehling, The Lotus Method, Thierry Despont, Tracy Anderson, Two Hands Restaurant and Bar. In addition to Tribeca, Stern has a strong presence and track record in the Financial District where he has arranged 25 leases. Stern also focuses on representing quick-service food tenants. He has arranged five leases for Red Mango, four leases for Jacques Torres Chocolate, six leases for Dunkin’ and three leases for Vin Sur Vingt. Stern joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired Newmark, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage and investment firm. He began his real estate career with the firm in 2010 as a canvasser.
