Allen Joffe is both a principal and the managing broker of Baum Realty Group, LLC. Since joining the firm in 1993, he provides clients with an unmatched knowledge of the Chicago area retail leasing business.Allen has successfully negotiated and managed lease transactions for more than 50 clients including McAlister’s Deli, Starbucks Coffee, Flagship Restaurants, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Blaze Pizza, Del Frisco’s Grille, Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, Morton’s Restaurant Group, Boston Market, McDonald’s, Advance Auto Parts, True Value, Jimmy John’s, Kay Jewelers, Fitness 19, US Bank, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, The Little Gym, Taco Fresco, OfficeMax, Massage Heights, honeygrow and Tide Dry Cleaners. Allen has overseen retail leasing programs for properties including Jupiter Realty, 222 S. Riverside Plaza for RREEF, 601 W. Jackson Boulevard for JeffJack Holdings, 100 N. LaSalle, 29 N. Wacker Drive for SunLife, TCF Bank, 625 N. Michigan Avenue for Golub & Co., R&D 659 for Mesirow, 59 E. Van Buren Street for L & H Real Estate Group, Fountainview for Terra Firma, 200 S. Michigan Avenue for BPG Properties, five shopping centers for DIKA Management, 208 S. LaSalle Street, 11 S. LaSalle Street & 10 E. Delaware Place for The Prime Group and McClurg Court for Charles E. Smith. He has also completed assignments on behalf of Angelos-Frigelis Properties, Broadview Village Square, Fifield Co., Fulcrum Asset Management, Triple Net Properties, Transwestern, Education Advancement Fund, Albertson’s (Jewel / Osco), Tower Realty Management, Syndicated Equities, TPG Realty and Diversey Metroplex Partners. Allen has completed land sales of between one and 80 acres, successfully negotiated lease terminations, consulted for the Chicago Transit Authority and Mesirow-Stein, as well as brokering approximately $30 million of investment sales transactions on behalf of DIKA Management. Allen has been recognized for his achievements by the Commercial Forum, a division of the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR) on numerous occasions. He was awarded Broker of the Year for Tenant Representation in 2006, 2007, and 2008 and was the recipient of the Jimmy John’s Top Producer award in 2008. He was also awarded the Top Retail Leasing Broker distinction in Chicago by CoStar. Allen is an active member of the Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International having served on the board, including as President, for 6 years, The Realty Club and the International Council of Shopping Centers on the State Board. He is an advisor for the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), a non-profit organization serving underdeveloped communities. He also serves on the Project Review Committee of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association.In addition, Allen was selected to join an elite group of real estate industry leaders as a mentor with the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, wherein he provides guidance to students interested in pursuing a career in real estate in 2014. In his spare time, Allen is an avid soccer player and bicyclist. Participating in the MS Tour de Farm is an annual event for the Joffe’s. The ‘Gold Spokes’ distinction for being one of the top fundraisers has been bestowed on Allen since 2012. Allen graduated from Illinois State University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
