Adam A. Cutler has been in the real estate industry for 40 years. Since 1987 his primary focus has been to locate and purchase under-preforming and distressed commercial and industrial properties for re-development into performing revenue properties. His 100% success history is a testament to his conservative analytical focus and perceptive forward vision. In the early 1990s he was one of the first to recognize the real estate development potential of Montreal’s Lachine Canal where he pioneered the now trendy “commercial loft” space concept. Among other properties, he successfully converted are two large former turn-of-the-century multi-story industrial buildings (Simmons mattress factory - 330,00 sf now Complexe du Canal Lachine and Dominion Textile - 420,000 sf now Complexe Dompark) into sought after authentic commercial lofts. In the 2000s, among other properties, he purchased for redevelopment a 300,000 sf industrial building occupied by Avon Canada along Montreal’s Trans-Canada Highway and the 100,000 sf Samuelsohn Building in Montreal’s Plateau district. In 2014, Cutler began investing in Memphis TN, purchasing two adjacent vacant downtown properties; a 25,000 sf warehouse and a 45,000 sf multi-use commercial building. The warehouse building was leased to Shelby County Sheriffs Dept. While the multi-use building was leased long-term as production offices for a network TV series. Building on his early success in downtown Memphis, Cutler purchased a near vacant 50,000 sf office building in 2017. After a short period of preparation and repairs the building was relaunched as class “A” FLEX offices and rebranded the Crane Co. Building of Memphis, to honor its original use/owner. Today the building in close to 100% leased to attorneys and other professionals. Cutler earned a business degree in management and computer science from Bishop’s University and applied real estate from McGill University. He is academically qualified for professional appraisal certification by AACI and EA as well as for FRI membership.
