Michigan State University (the "University" or "MSU") is soliciting qualifications (“RFQ Response”) from experienced real estate development teams (each a “Respondent”) to partner with MSU and undertake the development of an approximately 4,000-4,500-seat arena (the “Arena”), academic space (the “Classroom Space”), and commercial mixed-use district (together the “Project”) on the University's campus located in East Lansing, Michigan. The University has identified an approximately 14-acre site at the Northeast corner of Harrison Road and Trowbridge Road as the preferred location for the Project (referred herein as the “Site”). The Arena is intended to serve MSU's women's gymnastics, women's volleyball, and men's wrestling programs, as well as other athletics and community events hosted on campus.
The University intends to self-finance the Arena and Classroom Space while the selected Development Partner will finance the remaining commercial uses. As such, the selected Respondent (the “Developer”) will be responsible for:
• Development and construction of the Arena and Classroom Space; and
• Development, financing, construction, maintenance, and operations of the remaining improvements constructed on the Site.
