Ft. Meade with the National security Agency is one of the largest employers in Anne Arundel County. They continue to expand and recently the commander in charge of the base appealed to Anne Arundel County to streamline housing developments needed to keep up with the growth at the NSA headquarters. The area continues to see residential development. The newest addition to the area is the 444-townhouse development located in Watershed. Sources have told us eventually there will be 1,800 residential units at Watershed when it reaches full development. Additionally, Corridor Marketplace is slightly north of the DC beltway (I-495). Additionally, I-295 is a restricted highway that doesn’t allow truck traffic. New Carrollton, on the Orange Line, is the closest Metro station. Two MARC commuter rail stations — Odenton and Laurel — and Amtrak’s BWI Airport station are also nearby. Interstate 95 is slightly west of the community. Annapolis is about 20 miles southeast and Baltimore about 20 miles north.
