The 43.75 acres site is part of the Portage Northside Development that was launched in 2005 and updated in 2016. The property is commonly known as Parcel C and the plan originally envisioned office space in this location but is open to alternative uses as the the market dictates. A transit development district is currently envisioned just north of the site near the South Shore Line and other supporting developments. Burns Parkway has been constructed along the south border of Parcel C and it begins at the intersection of Route 249 and Ameriplex Drive. The city also foresees extending Burns Parkway across Burns Ditch and connecting it to Route 12 as some point in the future. Site is located 1/4 mile north of the Interstate
94 exit onto Route 249 with Ameriplex Portage being directly east of the parcel.
