The Delaware River Waterfront is currently undergoing a massive revitalization and has been the target of millions of dollars in investment over the past few years, introducing new and exciting retail, residential, and recreational attractions to the area. Major waterfront development projects include the Delaware River Trail - a scenic multimodal trail that stretches along Philadelphia’s Central Delaware River Waterfront; The Park at Penn’s Landing - a planned 11.5-acre civic space stretching between Chestnut Street, Walnut Street, Front Street, and the Delaware River; and 500 N Columbus - an overhaul of the 9.5-acre former Festival Pier that will feature retail and residential space, as well as shared public amenties including a plaza, water feature, art installations, and extension of the Delaware River Trail through the parcel.
