Harding House has accommodated Baldwin Wallace University (“BWU”) students since it was built in 1932. Harding House was renovated and/or added to in 1963, 1996 and in 2012. It offers 25 rooms (single, double and triple) with a capacity of 45 students. With 19,233 square feet, this three story building features air-conditioning, energy use monitoring, an elevator, indoor bike storage, handicap accessibility and a pleasing garden. In the fall of 2014, Harding House received Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Certification. This offering also includes a 9,156 sf/0.210 acre parcel directly across the street providing the building with approximately 10-12 additional parking spaces.
With the renovation and addition of beds elsewhere on the campus, Baldwin Wallace University will be vacating Harding House. Potential uses of the existing building include, but are not limited to student housing, senior living and multi-family. Only three miles from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and 15 miles from the heart of Downtown Cleveland, the property offers excellent proximity while maintaining a small town feel in historic Berea. Users and developers will benefit from being across the street from the vibrant BWU campus and just blocks from the Cleveland Browns Training Facility and the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds.
