Designed by architects Buchman and Kahn and completed in 1930, the 35 Story art deco style building is located on the corner of 5th Avenue and 58th Street. The building is conveniently located close to diverse restaurants, hotels and shopping.
The lobby is highlighted by an ornate bronze and stainless-steel entry screen over the main entrance to the building. The marble lobby has travertine floors and marble walls with an Art Deco influence, evident in the Arthur Covey ceiling mural, elevator door detail, heating grillwork detail and stair rails. There is a sculptured plaster ceiling in the elevator lobby and the ornate bronze and steel concierge desk houses all of the building security, elevator and fire life safety systems. Those passing through the lobby at the lunch hour enjoy live piano music.
