This site sits among expansive industrial developments that include the I-16 corridor, US Highway 80 and US Highway 280 in Ellabell. The distance from this site to I-16 via Hwy 119 is 2.6 miles and just 5.5 miles via Hwy 80 to Hwy 280. Hyundai Metaplant, the largest economic development project in the State of Georgia's history and will provide more than 8,500 jobs, is located at I-16 and US Hwy 280. with the Port of Savannah a short 25 miles from this tract. More than $2.1 billion in capital investment and approximately 5,000 jobs have been announced across the state by suppliers to HMGMA. This more than doubles the additional $1 billion investment by suppliers that was originally anticipated.
A wetlands delineation has been completed on the property. County water and sewer is proposed to the site and acquisition of county utility right of way is in the process currently. A portion of this tract (128.6 acres) is located in Bryan County with the remaining portion (42.21 acres) is located in Bulloch County.
The Joint Development Authority includes Chatham, Bryan, Effingham and Bulloch Counties and has combined their resources to facilitate bringing industry to our area. With Hyundai and the LG Energy Solutions plants bringing an investment of over $7.6B and sits on approximately 3,000 acres in Bryan County, it is causing exponential growth throughout our region, with employment within those entities expected to rise to 8,900 employees. Additional manufacturing plants with the promise of many additional jobs from the affiliate suppliers is expected to become widespread through out our local area.
