Symphony Place is ideally located in the 500 block of Smithe Street stretching a full city block between Seymour Street and Richards Street. The development is a 360-unit, twin tower project completed in 2012. A successful goal of the development was to contribute in reinforcing the distinctive urban character of downtown Vancouver. It has won numerous awards including: the REBGV Commercial Building Merit Award Mixed-Use, a Gold Georgie Award for Best Multi-Family High Rise Development, a Gold Georgie Award for High Rise Residential Community of the Year and a Gold Georgie Award for Best Interior Design Display Suite. It was designed to reinforce the neighborhood development objectives through a provision of providing a significant parking amenity given its prime location directly across Seymour Street from the Orpheum Theatre; as well as, close proximity to other entertainment venues such as the Vogue Theatre and the Commodore Ballroom. Public artwork was provided for the people of Vancouver complimenting the new multi-level park across Richards Street.
