The Star Lofts building is Iowa's first "Zero Carbon" certification by the International Living Future Institute, for a fully carbon neutral design. It features a mass timber building structure, with large exposed wooden columns, beams and decking; all with high-ceilings at 15' and great natural light coming through a south facing strorefront that opens onto Ingersoll Avenue. The site has on-site and street parking, green space, public art, and an outdoor patio.
