The New Braunfels area continues to expand rapidly, concurrent with the growth of its two larger surrounding markets, the
San Antonio MSA and Austin MSA. Over the last decade, New Braunfels ranked as one of the top fastest-growing cities
in the nation, posting a 56.6% increase, and Comal County ranked fourth, growing 44% over the same period. The area
has also experienced prominent business relocation with fortune 50 companies like Amazon and Walmart both making
New Braunfels the location of Central Texas distribution centers. In 2019, the city approved a $117 million bond package
that included over $44 million for transportation and infrastructure improvements, and New Braunfels Utilities committed
more than $550 million in capital projects over the next five years. The area’s home values have increased 30.9% since the
beginning of 2021, highlighting the popularity of the city as a smaller alternative to nearby metros. New Braunfels is wellpositioned
to benefit as development plans continue to sprawl outwards from Austin and San Antonio to bridge the gap
between the two urban centers, soon to create a large metro with over 6-7 million people
