The Town of Engelhard is located off US HWY 264 East just over an hour from Washington, NC, and approximately an hour south of Nags Head, NC. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is located on the Outer Banks, and stretches from Bodie Island and South Nags Head all the way to the southern tip of Ocracoke Island. There are two inlets – Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Inlet – and more than 70 miles of shoreline within the seashore’s boundaries.
