212 Nuway Packing Drive is a 180,000-square-foot frozen food manufacturing plant with a rich history. Initially a fast-food merchandiser for Hardee’s Restaurants, the facility was converted in 2003 to 16 lines for Denny’s Restaurants and Quiznos Soups. In 2012, the plant went through a needed renovation of the ceilings, floors, and electrical and began production of pastas, sauces, and assorted proteins under its most recent occupant, Valley Fine Foods.
This facility offers a unique opportunity to acquire a food processing building that has a substantial quality infrastructure. Its nearly 30,000 square feet of freezer and cooler have been recently updated and stands to be a valuable investment.
The property is 30 miles north of Spartanburg, 50 miles to the Greer Inland Port, and accessible to Interstate 26 and Interstate 85 via Route 74. Interstate 26 provides a direct route to the Port of Charleston, the most efficient port on the East Coast.
Rutherford County is located in the foothills of Western North Carolina, approximately halfway between Atlanta, Georgia, and Raleigh, North Carolina. The intersection of major north-south and east-west interstates in North Carolina makes it a natural hub for trucking access to points nationwide. Within 700 miles of North Carolina’s borders are 170 million US and Canadian consumers and more than 60% of the country’s industrial manufacturing base. Many of these customers can be reached by truck in two days or less.
