The building dates from the 1930s and has concrete pad/steel grillage foundations, a structural steel frame and cast-in-situ reinforced concrete floors and roof slab. The external cladding to the building is Portland stone to the Oxford Street elevation and returns with brickwork to the other elevations. The building was comprehensively refurbished in 2002.
