The restaurant was purchased by the current owner in 1990 with sales of $1.4 million. He has grown the business to average approximately $3.2 million in annual sales during the period 2000-2005. Sales dipped slightly during the recession, but again topped $3,100,000 in 2014. All years since 2000 have shown excellent profit margins. The restaurant operations are supported by 2 kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs, and the Blue Lady Bar. Its location on a bluff over the Pacific Ocean has made it one of the most famous “destination” restaurants in the state. It is a recognized California “Historical Building".
The restaurant has been in its current location since the 1920’s and has a famous ghost, the “Blue Lady”. The popular NBC TV series “Unsolved Mysteries” recreated a haunting version of “The Legend of the Blue Lady” and presented it to the world in 1994.
