Located in the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan’s thriving downtown, the iconic Vandenberg Center stands as a testament to the strength of the community. Born from the public/private collaboration for which Grand Rapids is known, Vandenberg Center was constructed between 1965-1970 by Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, a subsidiary of DTE Energy, and Old Kent Bank (known today as Fifth Third Bank), which is still has its home here today. After five decades of thoughtful stewardship by Fifth Third, CWD acquired the property in 2016, intent on transforming the epicenter of Grand Rapids commerce to serve future generations. Vandenberg Center is surrounded by some of the most prominent institutions and cultural landmarks in West Michigan. From the world-class healthcare services along Medical Mile (which is also home to the largest employers in West Michigan) to the city’s vibrant entertainment and nightlife, Vandenberg Center is in the middle of it all. Vandenberg Center has undergone a total revitalization to activate the street fronts and public spaces, attracting restaurant and retail users and capitalizing on its strong real estate fundamentals.
